Tackling Invasive Species in Derry & Strabane’s Green Spaces

We’re excited to be working with Derry City and Strabane District Council on a major project to help protect and restore some of Northern Ireland’s most valued green spaces.

Invasive species like Japanese knotweed and Himalayan balsam are quietly reshaping our landscapes - pushing out native plants, damaging habitats, and threatening biodiversity. Axion Solutions has been commissioned to carry out a district-wide survey of parks, greenways, and open spaces, identifying where these species are taking hold and helping the Council build a clear plan for action.

This project is a vital step in safeguarding local nature and ensuring these outdoor spaces remain vibrant, accessible, and resilient for years to come.

Appointed to Support Welsh Government on Land Valuation Innovation

We’re proud to announce that Axion Solutions has been selected by the Welsh Government to help test and evaluate new methodologies for land valuation across Wales. This pioneering project will provide essential evidence to inform the future of local taxation policy and explore the feasibility of a land value tax as an alternative to traditional property taxes. By applying innovative, data-driven techniques—including statistical, algorithmic, and formula-based approaches—our team will generate real-world insights into how land can be fairly and effectively valued.
